For 43 years, the JICSL has evolved with the changing times. We made it through Covid with a “Hats Off” campaign that went beyond our expectations.
This year, we’ve done it again! The JICSL distributed $1,463,000 in critical donations to 44 non-profit Indian River County agencies and in scholarships to the employees of the John’s Island Club and their children as follows:
Tambourine Resale Shop
On Mondays, volunteers accept donations inside the gates of John’s Island at the JI Maintenance building. For pickup of large items, contact the shop at (772) 562-0017 or Joann Phillips at: seajoann@aol.com
Don’t forget to donate your nearly new or gently used items (including women’s and men’s clothing), housewares, furniture, golf clubs, jewelry, and any other items you think will sell in our “upscale” resale.
The Tambourine has once again exceeded all expectations thanks to our dedicated manager of 20 years, Jane LeFevre, our past chair, Terry Osteen, our volunteers and donors alike. The 2021 – 2022 year was successful in many ways.
First, our net revenue was up more than 50% from last year and more than doubled over its pre-Pandemic level, a record in the more than 40 year history of the Tambourine Resale. Second, Chairish, the design world’s ultimate destination for home furnishings and art, was added to the Tambourine’s social media presence.
That addition will allow the Tambourine to show off and reap the benefits of its high ticket items.

The JICSL has many fun events planned for the 2022 – 2023 season. We hit the ground running with our 1st Game Day Luncheon of Bridge, Mah Jongg and Canasta on Thursday, Nov. 3rd, followed by our Opening Luncheon on Monday, Nov. 7th.
The excitement continues throughout the year with 2 – J. McLaughlin shopping days, 2 – Community Conversations about mental health, another Game Day Luncheon, our very popular Masters Par 3 golf tournament, the JI Real Estate 5 K Bunny Run around Eastertime and our Closing Luncheon at the end of April.
