All good: JI Community Service Event hails successes
Pat Thompson, current John’s Island Community Service League president, welcomed guests to the group’s 37th annual luncheon last Monday at the John’s Island Golf Club. The luncheon featured keynote speaker Laura Rebell Gross, who spoke about the remarkable Young Women’s Leadership Network.
For more than 40 years the JICSL has evolved with changing times, and while this past year was uniquely complex, it was an extraordinary one. It was the fourth year in a row we made grants in excess of $1,000,000. It is only because of the generosity of our John’s Island community that we are able to support operating expenses for so many agencies that serve women, children and families in need as well as provide scholarships to John’s Island Employees and their children.
